One of my favorite aspects of custom dress design is that it is so hands on. The bride is involved in every step of the process.
We start with a consultation. The bride and I meet to discuss her dress ideas and overall wedding style. I then work to sketch designs and pinpoint the needs of the bride.
Once the sketch is approved, I will then create a 'muslin' which is a mock up of the wedding dress made in a much less expensive fabric. When the fit is perfect, I will begin construction of the dress in final fabric. Depending on the design, fittings may range from 2-6 visits.
