Cheers to a Unique Bridal Show (and some tips)

Nestled among unique and fun treasures at the Artifact Chicago event space, Wedtoberfest 2016 proved to be a winner for both brides and grooms alike, diverting from the stuffy traditional bridal show to a lively party that incorporated wedding vendors, live music, and beer.

"It didn't feel like a wedding show, "one attendee mentioned, "It felt like a party."

We love that Indie Wed and Naturally Yours Events thought outside the box in creating a wedding show that appealed to everyone. It was not only fun for attendees, but we, as vendors, had a blast as well. It's hard not too when you are listening to the cool tunes of a live band all night and working right next to Molly's Cupcakes.

Participating in events like Wedtoberest is a great way to interact with and learn from brides. What types of things are they looking for? What questions do they have for a custom wedding dress designer? We loved hearing the wedding stories and where the couples were at in their planning process.

Here are a few tips for making the most of a bridal show:

  • Visit every table and collect their takeaways. It's good to have vendors business cards and brochures to review again when you are at home. Maybe there was a vendor you forgot about who would be perfect for your wedding.
  • Prior to attending, make a list of things you need for your wedding. A photographer? A DJ? An Air Stream Trailer Photo Booth like Jazi Photo Booth (trust me, you need this one!)
  • Really interact with vendors. Personality is a huge component with whether a vendor is right for your event. Ask them important questions that will help you make decisions.
  • Enjoy it! Wedding planning can be stressful, but shouldn't be. With bridal shows like Wedtoberfest, they are meant to be productive, but fun!

Thank you to Indie Wed and Naturally Your's Events for including Regina Jules Bridal in this years show. We loved being part of it and can't wait until next year!
